Candidates enrolled in Bronze Star will learn to complete In-Water Search Component. These searches will be performed in an area with both shallow and deep water to a maximum depth of 2 meters. The purpose of this activity is to apply search skills in a situation requiring a search of both shallow and deep water areas. Participants must show skills and knowledge completed in previous sections and incorporate those skills into this component. The material posted on this page is for information purposes only. To learn to do deep water searches, enroll in a Bronze course through the Lifesaving Society.
To successfully complete the in-water search component of Bronze Star participants must:
- Complete an effective search pattern and complete the searched area.
- Extend one arm above the head on ascent from deep water.
